This
grouping of small works by
ANNE
RUSSINOF, TONY
SAUNDERS,
and ELISE
WHITTEMORE-HILL is
a collaboration by three artists
who traverse the boundaries
of abstraction and figuration.
Memory, loss, overlapping
patterns
and natural forms serve as
inspiration in varying ways.
Saunders uses
interlocking shapes and lines
to describe a state of playful
awareness; Russinof works
in
layers and patterns to create
a
space in which a moment in
time is held; and Whittemore-Hill’s
structural studies of seeds
and pods approach nature’s
formal beauty in a direct
and
personal way. The conversation
between the works of these
three artists resonates
with
shared themes and a mutual
appreciation
of nature's processes.
The gallery is set up so that each of the artists are represented on individual walls of the gallery. However one wall contains works by all three, showing the rich areas of correspondence in theme and materials. To see the wall, click here. |
